National Youth-At-Risk Conference
March 2-5, 2008 – Savannah, Georgia
The mission for the 19th annual conference is to "train adults who serve youth to create safe, healthy, caring, and intellectually empowering educational environments that foster the well-being of all children and adolescents." The five strands are academic achievement and school leadership, social and emotional skills, safety and violence prevention, mental and physical health, and family and community. Participants will choose from a number of training sessions that address risk factors, protective factors, and community conditions needed for the well-being of young people.

9th Annual National Fatherhood & Families Conference: "Dads Make a Difference"
March 4-7, 2008 – Phoenix, Arizona
The Arizona Fathers & Families Coalition, Inc. is sponsoring the 9th Annual National Fatherhood & Families Conference. This is an informative national conference for those working with fathers, families, incarcerated parents, and multicultural programs and will provide opportunities for networking, learning about emerging strategies for capacity building, and opportunities to develop a national network of practitioners. It also offers the opportunity to hear what professionals, researchers, and community leaders around the country are sharing about the importance of the role that fathers contribute to the development of children with over 46 planned sessions.

National Juvenile Justice Conference
March 9-12, 2008 – St. Louis, Missouri
As national leaders in the education of professionals in the field of juvenile justice, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and the National District Attorneys Association will sponsor the 35th National Conference on Juvenile Justice. This conference offers juvenile justice professionals a national perspective on the issues they face in their day-to-day efforts to make a difference in the lives of children and families. The sessions at the conferences will highlight effective practice and programs, offer tips and tools, provide an opportunity for networking, and inspire and invigorate participants. The conference will address a wide array of topics from truancy and safe schools, to gangs, family violence, child abuse and neglect, juvenile sex offenders, and substance abuse.

National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare's 38th National Conference
May 1-3, 2008 – Boston, Massachusetts
The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare is a not-for-profit association representing 1,300 organizations that provide treatment and rehabilitation for mental illnesses and addiction disorders. Their 38th national conference is designed for community behavioral health providers and focuses on enhancing business operations and improving clinical outcomes. The conference will feature over 60 workshops, learning labs, and other sessions. Education sessions are framed around interest area tracks, and registration allows attendees to mix and match sessions from all tracks.

2008 National Alliance on Mental Illness Convention: Invitation to Exhibitors
June 13-16, 2008 – Orlando, Florida
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) invites exhibitors to their 2008 Annual Convention. Exhibitors are invited to join the thousands who will gather to explore strategy and tactics to improve the lives of people who live with mental illnesses. The NAMI Convention is the annual gathering of about 2,500 mental health activists and advocates from all over the U.S. and several foreign countries. Their attendees are responsible for securing or recommending mental health services, products, and information for themselves, loved ones, clients, and patients diagnosed with serious mental illnesses. They are eager for the latest information, treatment options, coping strategies, and support services. NAMI members are fierce advocates for people with mental illnesses, and conference attendees are also looking for help with advocacy activities especially in the areas of local, State, and federal legislation, housing, criminal justice, disability rights, parity, employment, and education.

Family Leadership in Systems Evaluation Learning Calls
The National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health will host a series of 2 monthly Learning Calls on the third Tuesday and Thursday of each month. Tuesday calls will focus on community evaluation teams and the benefits they have and can provide to your communities. Thursday calls will focus on topics such as the Internal Review Board (IRB), confidentiality, evaluation tools, evaluation reports and other topics of interest. Experts from around the country will participate and provide useful strategies, important information, processes, and answer questions as they relate to their topics of expertise.
