Drug-Free Communities Grants Workshops
Prospective applicants for the federal Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grants program are invited to attend a series of free workshops sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). General workshops will be held Feb. 16 in Washington, D.C . ; Feb. 21 in St. Louis; Feb. 23 in Seattle; Feb. 27 in Las Vegas; and March 6 in New Orleans. On Feb. 28, a special workshop for Native American applicants will be held in Las Vegas. This workshop "will provide an opportunity for coalitions operating on Native American reservations, Urban Indians, Native Alaskans, and those that represent Native peoples living in other areas, to gain an understanding of the DFC application process."

Child Welfare League of America 2007 National Conference

CWLA will be hosting a National conference entitled, “Children 2007: Raising Our Voices for Children” in Washington, DC. International Conference Focuses on Bullying
April 2-4, 2007 – Ottawa, Canada
Child and Youth Friendly Ottawa is holding its third international conference on bullying, “ I Am Safe--Protecting the Space We Call Childhood, The Third International Conference on Bullying & Victimization” on April 2-4 in Ottawa, Canada. The conference will raise awareness about bullying and victimization behaviors and share best practices from leading international experts.
Conference tracks include:
- systemic approach to bullying
- character development and education
- policy research and evaluation
- children's rights and youth engagement
- those most vulnerable
- root causes, environmental and societal influences
In addition to presentations by international experts, hands-on learning opportunities, youth engagement, live theater, video presentations, plenary sessions, and practical information, participants will have the opportunity to move toward a holistic, integrated community model of bullying prevention.
