Implementing Mental Health Crisis Response and Stabilization Services – Strategies and Successes
4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. ET

The presenters will share how they forged partnerships in their community and within their State to address the needs of children and youth in the community who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Each has developed a 24/7 service system to respond immediately, stabilize crises, assess strengths and needs, and mobilize necessary supports. These crisis response systems have been effective in keeping families together, stabilizing placements, and reducing the need for inappropriate psychiatric hospitalization. Learn how these programs evolved, how they operate, strategies for addressing challenges, and results of successful implementation.

Presenters:
Mary Stone Smith, Executive Director, Catholic Community Services of Western Washington (FAST - Family Assessment and Stabilization Team)
Susan McLaughlin, Children's Mental Health Planner, King County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse & Dependency Services Division
Wyndee Davis, Statewide Program Coordinator, Mobile Response and Stabilization Services, Division of Child Behavioral Health Services, New Jersey Department of Children and Families

Facilitator:
Kim Pawley Helfgott
, Child Welfare Resource Specialist, Technical Assistance Partnership for Child and Family Mental Health
