Effective Community-Based Collaboration for Successfully Transitioning Children, Youth, and Young Adults from Juvenile Justice Placement
August 11, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, Eastern Time (ET)
Event Type: Webinar
Each year, more than 90,000 children, youth, and young adults are placed in residential juvenile justice facilities. Of those, a large number have at least one diagnosable mental health disorder, and many have serious emotional issues. Successfully transitioning these individuals back into their communities can be a challenge for systems of care. This Webinar will explore ways in which system of care communities- through meaningful collaboration between mental health providers, juvenile justice partners, and the schools- can facilitate the successful transition of children, youth, and young adults leaving secure care and promote positive life outcomes for these individuals.
