Historical Trauma: Healing Approaches in Native American Communities

This free training, sponsored by the UCSF Department of Psychiatry, will feature "Healing the Historical Trauma Response" by Maria Yellow Horse Brave Heart, PhD, an Associate Professor of Social Work at Columbia University. Maria Yellow Horse Brave Heart has developed the concept of historical trauma and historical unresolved grief theory and interventions among Native Americans. She also founded the Takini Network, a non-profit organization devoted to community healingfrom intergenerational massive group trauma among Native People.
