What is managed care?

Answer:

Managed care is a system of health care delivery that tries to manage the cost of health care, the quality of the care, and access to that care. Common elements include a group of contracted health care providers that encompass less than the total universe of providers in an area, limitations on the use of outside providers who are not contracted with the organization, and some type of authorization system.
